Traditional Karate is a study of body mechanics/structures, correct breathing and balance which allows the Karateka (practitioner) to generate seemingly extraordinary amounts of power. Alongside this, we teach awareness, modern street psychology, vulnerable points, joint locks, takedowns/throws, setting up an aggressor for a pre-emptive strike (only when absolutely necessary) and legal/moral requirements.
As well as teaching Shotokan Karate to high technical standards, we include influences from various other martial arts including Wing Chun, Tai Chi, Combat JuJutsu and Reality Based Martial Arts.
Classes are held in a friendly and supportive environment.
